Vic: Police seek witnesses to fatal crash
Police are appealing for witnesses to a fatal collision in Melbourne's outer east this morning.
Police say a 57-year-old man died when the car he was driving hit another vehicle on
the Maroondah Highway, near St Huberts Road about 6.20am (AEST).
A passenger in the same vehicle as the deceased man, and the driver of the other car
were taken to hospital with minor injuries.
The Major Collision Investigation Unit wants to speak to a truck driver who was seen
driving in front of the deceased's car before the crash.
Police believe the driver may be able to help clarify circumstances surrounding the collision.
The man's death takes Victoria's road toll to 222 compared with 208 for the same period
last year.
