Fed: Jeffrey Archer in Australia

After selling 120 million books worldwide and being at the centre of one of Britain's
most damaging political scandals, there's still one thing on the TO DO list for JEFFREY
ARCHER.

And that's to captain the England cricket team and beat Australia five nil, according
to the 60-year-old author.

ARCHER is in Australia to promote his latest book, a collection of 14 short stories
- To Cut a Long Story Short.

Just months ago, ARCHER - once a candidate for London Mayor - was dumped from Britain's
Conservative Party in a blaze of scandal after it was revealed he asked a friend to lie
in a high-profile libel case.

ARCHER has recently signed a new multi-million dollar deal with publishers Harper Collins
for two new novels and a set of short stories.

He's also written a play for London's West End - called The Accused - in which he hopes to star.

ARCHER says he's hoping to make it Down Under again in six weeks for the Olympics to
watch the athletics, gymnastics, swimming and women's volleyball, which he says shows
off a woman at her worst and best as the killer comes out.

He's labelled Australians the sports freaks of the world, a rank in which he wholeheartedly
includes himself.
